Collection: Sleeping Babes Commissions

Original Charcoal, conte and coloured pencil drawing of your sleeping child (or children) on 220gsm cartridge paper

Exploring the emotional vulnerability that accompanies extreme sleep deprivation in early parenthood.

The inspiration behind this idea came from my own experiences of trying to get my daughter to sleep at night, between the ages of 2-3. Trying so hard, feeling repeatedly helpless, and desperate for us all to sleep. And then those feelings would dissipate, and a deep, sweet relief and surge of love for her would wash over me as soon as she fell asleep.

Being able to capture my daughter asleep in a drawing, not only provided a healthy creative outlet for my emotions, but also serves as a positive reminder, that she does sleep, that we will get through this together, and that we are all doing our best.

Whether you are gifting to another or buying for yourself, there is nothing more peaceful than seeing your child asleep, especially when it has taken a while to get them there!
